Free and Equal Elections Announces Fundraising Drive

The campaign season is almost over, and soon the American people will decide the next President of the United States.

But most Americans STILL think there are only TWO candidates running!

Free and Equal is committed to raising the level of political discourse in this country by providing a platform for non-mainstream presidential candidates to reach out to the American People.

This past Thursday, Free and Equal hosted a Presidential Debate in Washington, DC. Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin and Independent candidate Ralph Nader participated in a spirited contest that was broadcast on C-SPAN2.

Now, Free and Equal Elections has partnered with TheyWillBeHeard.com, Restore The Republic, and Restore the Republic Radio to host a Vice-Presidential Debate in Las Vegas, NV this coming Sunday.

These organizations, despite our differences of ideology, have come together to ensure that third parties have a voice on the political stage –a voice that the mainstream media will not allow them to have.

Darrell Castle, the Constitution Party VP candidate, Matt Gonzalez, Independent Ralph Nader's running mate, and Wayne Allyn Root, the Libertarian Party VP candidate, have all formally agreed to the Vice-Presidential Debate in Las Vegas.

Vice-Presidential Debate to Take Place on Sunday, November 2nd

Christina M. Tobin, President of Free and Equal Elections, announced this afternoon that Libertarian Party vice-presidential candidate, Wayne Allyn Root, Constitution Party vice-presidential candidate, Darrell Castle, and Independent Ralph Nader running mate, Matt Gonzalez, have formally agreed to a three-way vice-presidential debate to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada this Sunday November 2, 2008.
Further details will be announced Thursday, October 30, 2008. In addition to the confirmed participants, an open invitation is extended to the remaining three presidential tickets that appear on enough ballots to acquire 270 Electoral votes. Free and Equal looks forward to the remaining campaigns' response.

Restore the Republic and Revolution Broadcasting

This summer Gary Franchi and Restore the Republic were very supportive of our march and rally in Washington D.C. Gary helped advertise the event in his magazine, his website and his email list. For that we are very thankful. Gary was also one of our wonderful MCs for the event.

Also another big help to our efforts was Revolution Broadcasting. We had a radio show on Revolution Broadcasting to give updates and progress reports about the march as well as running commercials leading up to the event.

We are now working on organizing a march and rally for 2009 and we look forward to working with Gary Franchi and Restore the Republic as well as Revolution Broadcasting. Freedom Tour with Marc Scibilia

The Freedom Tour musicians are now playing to crowds of freedom lovers all over the nation. Currently on their way to Salt Lake City, the guys are excited to be reinvigorating meetups and drawing fresh faces into the cause of freedom and liberty. They are about half way through their tour. There are many dates left to go, Salt Lake City, UT, Boulder, CO, And a dozen more as they push back toward the East Coast. The Freedom Tour band featuring Marc Scibilia is also performing at the July 12 Revolution March in Washington DC.

Award winning Nashville film-maker and fellow liberty lover was honored to be asked to follow the tour and document it. Israel Anderson, Director of the tour organized a $15,000 loan from Larry Lepard, the same patriot that purchased the full-page ad for Ron Paul in USA Today. That ad alone cost $80,000 btw. But the loan the tour got which was for the RV and for gas is fast depleting. Not only is it not going to be enough to get them all the way through their tour and back home again, but they also have a loan they need to pay back at the end. Let's help them with this!

Why Washington D.C.

We have received many questions regarding our choice of location for this march, specifically, why march in Washington DC instead of at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul?

One thing was immediately clear when this march was proposed; it must be about more than just Ron Paul, and the Republican party. Holding this march at the Republican National Convention would take away from our educational and unifying message through the implication that we were there solely to protest the actions of the party and/or the convention itself. This march is about more than that. It is about freedom and the Constitution!

The March on July 12th is planned to be an an educational event for the participants as well as our elected representatives. Washington DC provides the perfect opportunity for this as it is rich with history and provides easy access to our elected officials and their staff. Washington DC is where you can find your congressmen and Senators, Washington DC is where you can find Ron Paul, and most importantly it is where you can find the Constitution. Washington DC is where we want to be!

Logistically speaking, the DC police are trained professionals who are used to marches and rallies. They understand the law and the constitution and are prepared to facilitate a peaceful event. In St. Paul they are gearing up for riots and providing their police officers with taser guns. There is great potential for unrest at the RNC and it will be hard to provide a fun, educational family event with the potential of being tasered for speaking your mind. With that being said, RevolutionMarch.com and Revolution Management Foundation are supporters of activists such as Dr. King Jr and Ghandi; we practice non-violent civil disobedience and do not want to associate this movement with anything other than that.

It is tempting to cry foul and shake our fists at the many unfair tactics used by the GOP, and to be honest we're willing to support those who organize such a showing at the RNC through our logistics and promotional abilities, but that is not what this march is about. Rather, this march is an opportunity to bring the energy behind this revolution together in a positive manner and to let the voice of freedom be heard! Our presence in Washington DC will signify that we are paying attention, not just to this Presidential election, but to all of our elected officials and the decisions they are making on our behalf. Our presence in Washington DC will allow many people access to historic locations and documents, such as the Jefferson Memorial and the United States Constitution, possibly for the first time in their life. To sum up, our message is about freedom and the Constitution while the RNC is about Republicans and Ron Paul.

We have a Date! Ron Paul will be keynote speaker!

Hello Everyone,

The day is finally upon us! WE HAVE A DATE! We also have confirmation that Ron Paul will be the keynote speaker at our march and rally in Washington D.C. The date will be July 12, 2008, the march will end at the rally point on the West side of Capitol Hill. More details on the march start point and march route will be released soon!

We want to make this a huge event! As of now, we have had over 14,000 people pledge to march and rally with us! We want 100,000 plus to be there and create one loud voice advocating freedom and less government. We thank Dr. Ron Paul for being our keynote speaker and we will publish a list of other great speakers in the coming weeks.

Like many of you, we were looking forward to marching on June 21. Unfortunately, this was not possible due to permitting. We did get permits for the dates of July 12 and August 2, so we decided to reach out to the excited members of the Revolution to find out which date you preferred. The results of the poll on our website had July 12 as the preferred date with 47% of the vote. Once Dr. Paul confirmed his availability for this date, it was a done deal! We know this movement isn't about dates, it is about freedom, less government, and personal responsibility. So if that was not the best date for you, we hope that you will do your best to arrange your schedule to support the rest of us who are already committed to that date. We hope that this helps continue to spread the word and message of Dr. Paul and the Ron Paul Revolution!

We have dates!!! Please Read

Today we can finally announce that we have dates for our march and rally! We tried very hard to secure the date of June 21st with both the National Parks Service and the Capitol Hill Police. Of course, while we agree with Ron Paul and many of you that June 21st would be optimal, it is just not logistically possible due to the popularity of this summer date. With that in mind, we are once again reaching out to our fellow members of The Revolution to find out how best to serve you, and our common goal.

The End of America- Naomi Wolf

Naomi Wolf is a best selling author becoming famous for her book "The Beauty Myth" (1991). In 2007 she wrote “The End of America”: Letter of warning to a young patriot. Here she outlines 10 steps necessary for a state to take control of individual lives.

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy.
2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.
3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens.
4. Set up an internal surveillance system.
5. Harass citizens' groups.
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release.
7. Target key individuals.
8. Control the press.
9. Treat all political dissents to be traitors.
10. Suspend the rule of law.

This book takes a look at the rise of fascism and how this pattern was followed in Nazi Germany and Italy. She urges Americans to take action and restore the constitution. If you look at history you can see a clear pattern for turning a free society into a dictatorship, she compares these steps to those taken by the Bush Administration after 9/11.
